Empowering English Language Learners
In our collaborative English and engineering course this week and last, students learned a bit about animation. We watched several videos made using different animation styles, then, students downloaded Pivot Stickfigure Animator, a great free program that let's you learn how to animate simple stick figures and design other characters or objects using connected lines. Once students got an idea of what the program could do, they all went to work on story boarding a short story that they would later animate with the program. Their stories varied, but all had a good degree of action, things that are easy to show with such simple animation. Here are some examples of what they created!
