Shhh! by Jason

In our the Comics and Graphic novels course, we just finished a narration project for the first chapter of Sshhhh! a wordless comic by Jason (2008.)  This year, we have explored many comic formats, and this one was interesting for the students because while it held pictures in the traditional style of comics, it contained no words.  It gave us an opportunity to tell the story in our own way, guided by the pictures.  Shhh! is also a short animated film based on the first chapter of the comic.  This short film was shown at the Hiroshima International Animation Festival in August.  Students viewed the film after we had completed our narration, and discussed how the animation interpreted the story differently from the way they had.  Please check out the PowerPoint of the narration and the Youtube movie short below.  You may need to sign in through Facebook to view the PowerPoint with sound through authorStream, but you can also email me for the file at forbes.sarah@gmail.com.
