Empowering English Language Learners
On Thursday, November 24th, our Advanced English 1 Collaborative Learning in English and Engineering (CLE2) students visited a local junior high school, Takaodai, to present their hands-on engineering projects in English! They've worked hard on planning, materials, and presentation for months and it was great to see it all come together. The junior high school students were enthusiastic about the projects, and they excitedly built their marshmallow towers and rubber band cars. Both of these projects taught students about some fundamental engineering concepts. Marshmallow towers teach students about the importance of shapes and forces in mechanical engineering, and rubber band cars help students understand kinetic and potential energy.
KTC students worked hard to create a fun learning environment and they were quite successful!
